A BIG thank you to our students and families for supporting the PTA fundraiser for victims of the Camp Fire in Butte county.  The community raised over $2500 in cash and gift card donations.   The spirit and generosity of our Edison community is heartwarming.

***Update 12/17/18 - the amount is now up to $3258, thanks to a generous donation from the Edison Girl Scouts (third grade troop) over this past weekend!***

A particular thank you to the Edison PTA Community Service Committee for their tireless efforts in making this happen!

Starting in January, thanks to the support of the Edison PTA, we will be holding monthly coffees with the principal. These coffees will take place monthly, following one of our Tuesday Community Meetings with students.  The coffees are at 8:30, in the Multi-Purpose Room, on the following dates:  January 15, February 12, March 12, April 30 and May 28.

These coffees are meant as an opportunity to engage in informal conversations about our school.  Information is shared by the Principal regarding upcoming events and activities, as well as current and planned programs.  It is also an occasion to ask questions and share ideas about improving student achievement and our school….and coffee will be served!  Please calendar the dates, and/or keep a lookout for announcements.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Edison families,

Although slightly diminished from last week, the pile of clothing lost and found is still quite significant.  Please take a look and see if you can identify any of your child's clothing.  The Lost and Found table is just inside the hallway gate, to the right as you enter through the main office entrance.

All clothing remaining there by Friday, December 21st will be donated to charity.

Attendance is important!

Please remember!  Attendance is important!

If your child will be absent, please call the school to report their attendance.  To help you do this, we now have an attendance line!   When you call the school at 510-748-4002, follow the  instructions to leave a message. Please leave your name, relationship to the student, the student's name, room number, teacher, the date of absence or tardy, and the reason for the absence.  I will collect these daily.

Students who arrive on time and are ready to go in the morning get the most out of their school experience. Students who arrive late must go to the office to obtain a late pass before they are allowed in the classroom.  This applies to all students.

Please ensure your child is ready to go for school by preparing their lunch the night before if they are bringing, deciding on what to wear the night before, and that backpacks, schoolwork, and everything needed for the day is ready to go and by your front door.  By preparing for the next day, it can make your morning run that much smoother, and help your child arrive to school on time.
